Fenna Witkamp (she/her), is a visual artist whose work is rooted in researching self-expression, gender roles, and sexuality. Driven by her ever-growing interest in the societal structures that create prejudices and taboos surrounding these subjects. Fascinated by everything and everyone provoking the status quo, she captures a life of non-conformity within concert halls, punk bars and other anarchic spaces. She views her camera as an anthropological instrument and applies analog photography because of the physical process, in order to make genuine contact with the images.

Additionally, documenting her personal life is of great importance to Fenna's artistic practice. This offers not only introspection but also serves as an exploration of intimacy. Recently, she has been painting and using mixed media techniques to—from a feminist perspective—examine the alienated societal relationship to the naked body and sexuality. By addressing the uncomfortable, the erotic, and the intense, she attempts to uncover what it means to experience the world through the body.
